Auto Accident Reporting Procedures

If you are involved in an auto accident in the Metropolitan Toronto Area (ie 416), and there are injuries, a public vehicle is involved (i.e. TTC), or there appears to be evidence of criminal activity (i.e. impaired driving, careless driving), please notify the police. If not, you are required to report the accident within 24 hours to one of the Auto Accident Reporting Centres listed below.

If you are outside of Toronto, please call police.

At the scene of any accident, you should share your driver information, insurance information and phone numbers. You should also make note of all witnesses that may be present.
